I was literally lapping up every word, frantically turning pages to know more about Rose and the White Bear. Overall, I loved this book and there was not a dull moment while I was reading it. However, both the stories seemed to be influenced by the fairy tale East of the Sun and West of the Moon and hence the similarity. And perhaps if you have read ACOTAR even you will see the resemblance. While I was reading this one I was reminded how very close this came to being similar to A Court of Thorns and Roses. The narrative is certainly linear and there is a shift in narrators throughout the book. The author has not only planned the whole retelling in the warmest way but she makes sure to keep the suspense alive till the last page of the book. This book was a pleasant surprise and a lovely adventure as well. I never read blurbs and I always love to surprised by books.
